2022 Road Closures and Detours & I-70 Race Day Detour

The 2022 OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon, OhioHealth Quarter Marathon and Cap City 5K will be held on Saturday, April 30

Event organizers will be setting up downtown on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29 with the following road closures from Friday, April 28 at 5 p.m. to Saturday, April 29 at 2 p.m.:

  1. High Street from Broad Street to Rich Street
  2. W. Town Street from W. Front Street to S. High Street.
  3. E. Town Street from S. Third St. to the Columbus Commons Garage.
  4. E. Rich Street from High Street to S. Third Street.

Downtown Road Closures, Friday, April 28-Saturday, April 30

On Race Day, April 30, the Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5K will have “rolling” road closures that will affect streets throughout the city from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The roads on the above race course will be closes according to the 2022 Race Day Road Closure Schedule.

I-70 Closure / Race Day Directions

I-70 will be closed between I-71 and RT. 315 on Race Day. All traffic into Downtown will be re-directed via I-670 or E. Broad St.

Exit 96 I-670 East Airport
Continue East to Third St Exit 4A
Go South on Third St to the preferred parking garages

FROM I-70 EASTBOUND

Exit 101 A I-71 North
Continue North to Broad St Exit 108B
Go West on Broad St to the preferred parking garages

FROM I-71 NORTHBOUND

Exit 106 315 North
Exit 1D I-670 East (or Exit Long St 1C to Third St)
Continue East to Third St Exit 4A
Go South on Third St to the preferred parking garages

FROM I-71 SOUTHBOUND

Exit I-670 West Dayton (or Exit Spring St 109B to Third St)
Continue West to Third St Exit 4B
Go South on Third St to the preferred parking garages

FROM 315 SOUTHBOUND

Exit I-670 East
Continue East to Third St Exit 4A
Go South on Third St to the preferred parking garages

To alleviate the stress of parking on race day we recommend you plan to give yourself plenty of time. You should be parked by no later than 7am.
