2020 OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon Rescheduled To August 29

M3S Sports has been consulting with city of Columbus officials over the past weeks to discuss updates regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). In consideration of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s State Order banning mass gatherings of more than 100 and under the guidance of Columbus Mayor Andrew J Ginther, the OhioHealth Capital City Half & Quarter Marathon has been rescheduled to August 29, 2020.

“We thank Mayor Ginther for his leadership and guidance on all matters of public health and safety, especially in these times of uncertainty due to the spread of COVID-19,” Race Director David Babner said. “The health and safety of our participants, volunteers, partners and spectators and others involved is our top priority. To that end, we are confident that moving Cap City to August 29 is the safe and prudent decision.”

The 17th Annual OhioHealth Capital City Half & Quarter Marathon and Commit To Be Fit 5K will still feature all the elements that have long made the event the city’s annual celebration of the healthy active lifestyle, including the Byers Xtra Mile Finish Line Party and PNC Post-Race Concert at the John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons.

“Rescheduling Cap City to late August was not an easy decision, but we look forward to celebrating our participants and showcasing Columbus to the region on August 29 with our biggest and best event yet,” Babner said.

OhioHealth Funds To Help Those In Need During COVID-19 Crisis

OhioHealth believes it takes community to sustain the health of those it serves.

Caring for the Central Ohio community through the COVID-19 pandemic is its highest priority. As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise, OhioHealth is leveraging its resources, time and talents to ensure valuable care is available to those in need, when and where they need it most.

You may be wondering how we can help. If you are in a position to make a gift, please support OhioHealth's efforts to keep our communities healthy with a contribution to the OhioHealth Greatest Needs Fund or the OhioHealth Associate Emergency Assistance Fund.

The OhioHealth Associate Emergency Assistance Fund provides support and relief for OhioHealth associates who are working around the clock fighting COVID-19. The OhioHealth Greatest Needs funds will be mobilized across our health system to respond to the rapidly changing needs of our caregivers who are treating the most vulnerable, and to provide relief to those facing great hardship.

Thanks for everyone's support to us and our partners during this difficult time. Stay safe and healthy, we're all in this together.
