Papa John’s of Central Ohio To Host Post-Race Pizza Party, Sponsor Training Tips & Pace Teams In 2019
COLUMBUS, Ohio (January 25, 2019) — Papa John’s of Central Ohio, the Official Pizza of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon, will return as a major sponsor for a fifth straight year as well as be a major partner of the LIVE broadcast on WBNS 10TV.
For a third straight year, Papa John’s will get runners and walkers to the Start Line and then guide them to the Finish Line by sponsoring Official Training Tips and Pace Teams in addition to being the event’s official pizza and hosting the World’s Largest Pizza Party at the Post-Race Party.
The 2019 OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon, OhioHealth Quarter Marathon and Commit To Be Fit 5K will be held in downtown Columbus and surrounding neighborhoods on April 27, 2019. All events begin and finish at the Columbus Commons. The event will be broadcast LIVE on WBNS 10TV.
Papa John’s of Central Ohio, with 27 restaurants in Central Ohio, has been the Official Pizza of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon since 2015.
In 2019, Papa John’s will again provide Better Training, Better Fuel Tips to runners and walkers that will be featured in the Capital City Half Marathon Newsletter and on social media. On Race Day, Papa John’s sponsors the Papa John’s Pace Team that leads runners and walkers of all skill levels to successfully complete the Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon or 10TV Commit To Be Fit 5K.
“Papa John’s is a tremendous partner of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon and huge supporter of our professional sports teams and our community,” Race Director David Babner said. “We are excited to continue our partnership in 2019 with training tips and the Papa John’s pacers. And then of course we will again celebrate all finishers at the Post-Race Party with the World’s Largest Pizza Party.”
Papa John’s of Central Ohio delivers more than 2,000 large pizzas from 11 restaurants to the Columbus Commons on Race Day to provide a complimentary slice to the event’s 13,500 participants. The unique giveaway has been tremendously popular since it debuted in 2015.
Finally, Papa John’s will donate five percent of gross sales on Race Day in its 27 restaurants to the OhioHealth Foundation, the benefiting charity of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon since 2015.
