Runner’s World Coming To Columbus For OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon, USATF Half Marathon National Championships
COLUMBUS, Ohio (February 6 2017) — Runner’s World, the largest and most influential media brand in running, is coming to Columbus as part of the 2017 OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon and 2017 USATF Half Marathon National Championships in April.
“Columbus is one of the best running destinations and among the leading host cities in the nation,” said David Babner, Race Director of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon. “We can’t wait to showcase Columbus and Franklin County, Cap City and the national half marathon championships to Runner's World and its millions of readers.”
As part of the partnership, Runner's World’s Social Media Editor Hannah McGoldrick and Associate Editor Ali Nolan, the popular hosts of Runner's World web series Super Secret Mystery Meeting, will produce an episode in Columbus. This will be the second time the show has gone “on tour” at a race. The show, available on YouTube and runnersworld.com, is described as an “off-the-record, honest, and fun take on running from two millennial runners.”
“Runner’s World is excited to partner with the Cap City Half Marathon by bringing the Super Secret Mystery Meeting team to Columbus and getting Runner's World in the hands of their passionate runners with a special free subscription offer,” said Jessica Murphy, managing director of Runner’s World.
The OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon received rave reviews from runners, coaches and USA Track & Field staff when it hosted the USATF Half Marathon Championships for the first time in 2016.
“The Cap City Half exceeded every expectation. The athletes absolutely loved the race and atmosphere. After experiencing their hospitality first hand, I would put David Babner and his staff up with the very best globally. The 2016 edition was fantastic and I expect even bigger things in 2017,” said Josh Cox, a four-time U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier who now represents many of the nation’s best long-distance runners.
Runner’s World, headquartered in Pennsylvania and published by Rodale Inc., is the most popular running magazine in the world. In the United States, Runner's World has a monthly circulation of more than 665,000 and monthly readership of more than 2.6 million. Runnersworld.com attracts 6.7 million unique visitors each month.
